Microgrid Labs (MGL) is proud to support the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) in its Electric School Bus Program through its collaboration with C&S Companies, a trusted engineering partner specializing in clean and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
As part of this initiative, MGL has provided its cutting-edge fleet electrification modeling tool, EVopt, to C&S Associates to assist school districts across New York State in planning and implementing electric school bus fleets and charging infrastructure design. EVopt enables precise modeling and analysis of fleet operations, optimizing electric bus deployment by considering variables such as route design, charging infrastructure, energy costs, and grid interactions.
The NYSERDA Electric School Bus Program aims to accelerate the adoption of zero-emission school buses across the state, improving air quality for students and communities while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. By integrating advanced electrification planning tools like EVopt into the process, school districts can ensure that their transition to electric buses is power grid efficient, operationally reliable, and environmentally impactful.
C&S Associates, which has a proven track record in sustainable school infrastructure projects, is leveraging MGL’s expertise and technology to provide data-driven recommendations for transitioning from diesel to electric school buses. This partnership is a significant step toward making New York’s schools cleaner, greener, and more resilient.
